Privacy policy and data collection
C.D.E.S. Canada is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its staff, administration, volunteers, members, customers and other stakeholders. We value the trust of the people we deal with and of the public, and we know that keeping that trust means being transparent and accountable about how we handle what you share with us.

Definitions
What counts as personal information
Personal information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual. It can include a person's opinions or beliefs as well as facts about them.
What is not covered
Business contact information, and certain publicly available information such as names, addresses and telephone numbers published in directories, are not treated as personal information. Information already in the public domain is not subject to privacy legislation and is not covered by this policy.
Home details used for business
Where a customer or client gives us home contact information and uses it as their business contact information, C.D.E.S. Canada treats what was provided as business contact information.

During our projects and activities we gather and use related information. Anyone whose information we collect should expect it to be protected carefully, and any use of it to be tied to a specific purpose with implied consent. We gather professional contact information from sources including:
We collect only what is relevant and necessary to our programmes. C.D.E.S. Canada does not make unwarranted or intrusive inquiries into anyone's history or personal life, and it records the source of the data it collects.

Limited use and retention
Personal information is not used or disclosed for purposes other than those it was collected for, except with the individual's consent or where the law requires it. It is kept only as long as those purposes need.

Personal information should be as complete, accurate and current as possible. You are encouraged to review, correct and update your own details by logging in and using the edit profile option.
Security
Personal information gathered by C.D.E.S. Canada is kept in confidence. Our people are authorised to see it only where they need it to do the work it was collected for.

About us
C.D.E.S. Career Development Education Services Centre
A federally registered Canadian not for profit organisation, established in 2015, with its head office in British Columbia and a branch office in Ontario. Our mission is to create and support programmes that promote education for Canadian professionals.
Today
C.D.E.S. provides Continuing Professional Development to Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants and RISIAs, and to lawyers and paralegals.
How we got here
Since 2015 C.D.E.S. has offered CPD programmes in the accounting, financial and legal areas. In October 2018 it extended its programmes to members of the Law Society of Ontario.
C.D.E.S. is a CICC Approved CPD Provider and an LSBC Approved CPD Provider. Every law society and regulator sets its own rules on what counts toward a requirement. Confirm eligibility with your own regulator before you rely on a course.
