CPD certificate support

Your C.D.E.S. certificate has to show the day you actually generated it. Getting the Date of Issue right keeps your record clean if the College asks you to verify a claim, or if you are picked for a CPD audit.

You generate the certificate yourself from the C.D.E.S. learning system. It is your personal proof of attendance.

Why it matters

The date is part of a declaration

Your certificate carries a declaration that you viewed the videos between your registration date and the date the certificate was generated. Choosing a past or a future date puts your certificate out of step with our system logs, and that mismatch can get a claim rejected if CICC runs a verification check.

The rule in one line

The Date of Issue must be today's date, the day you press generate.

Step by step

Generating your certificate

  1. Open the certificate generatorLog in to your member dashboard, go to your completed CPD bundle page and click Generate Certificate.
  2. Check the Date of IssueBefore you submit or download, find the date field. The system is built to default to the current calendar date. Confirm that the date shown is today.
  3. GenerateOnce the date is right, click submit.

Worth knowing

Three reminders

There is an audit trail

The C.D.E.S. learning system keeps its own timestamp of when you completed the videos. Keeping your certificate date aligned with your real usage keeps that trail clean.

Generate it once, and early

Generate your certificate as soon as you finish the final video in your bundle. That gives you the most accurate date of completion for your records.

Stop if something looks wrong

If the date field is not working, or it shows the wrong year, stop before you download and contact us.

Troubleshooting

If the date picker misbehaves

If the date field is blank, shows the wrong year, or will not respond to a click, work through these before you generate the document.

  1. Refresh the pageScripts do not always load first time. Press Ctrl and R on Windows, or Command and R on a Mac, then try the date picker again.
  2. Try a private windowCached data from an earlier session can interfere. Open a new Incognito window in Chrome, or a new Private window in Safari or Firefox, log back in to C.D.E.S. and generate the certificate there.
  3. Try a different browserOlder browsers, and some mobile browsers, do not render the date picker properly. Use a current version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
  4. Turn off ad blockersSome browser extensions block the pop up calendar or the generate script. Disable your ad blocker for cdecanada.net for a moment and see whether the date field comes alive.
  5. Clear your cacheIf the date is stuck on a past date, your browser may be serving you a cached page. Clear your browsing data, restart the browser and try again.

Still stuck

Send us a screenshot

Do not download a certificate with the wrong date on it. A mismatched date can conflict with your CICC claim records. Take a screenshot of what you are seeing and email it to Support email. Our technical team will look into it and, if needed, make sure your certificate is generated correctly for your records.
