Event Objectives: This course is focused on the eligibility requirements, structure, and advantages of the Global Talent Stream (GTS) as an important part of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Since the GTS accepts workers who are LMIA-exempt, and LMIA-required, the new electronic application process through the LMIA Online Portal - Pilot with Job Bank, will be discussed in great details as well as the two categories of the GTS - Category A & Category B; the Global Talent Occupation List; corresponding NOC 2021 TEER categories; prevailing wage; who is exempt from the requirement to obtain work permit but must obtain visitor record; possibility to apply for permanent residence after one year of work experience in Canada; eligibility criteria for employers, which include but not limited to Designated Referral Partner, the Marker Labour Benefit Plan (LMBP), compulsory and complimentary benefits as a result of some activates that employers must undertake in order to hire temporary foreign workers under the Global Talent Stream.
