Event Objectives: This course examines inadmissibility grounds as they are stipulated in the sections A34 to A42 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA): security; human and international rights violation; serious criminality; organized criminality; health grounds; financial reasons; misrepresentation; non-compliance with the Act; and inadmissible family member. Based on the ground of inadmissibility, the relating removal orders (departure, exclusion and deportation) will be analyzed as well as Authorization to return to Canada (ARC). In addition, Security and Criminal Certificates will be discussed to determine who is responsible for their issuance, and who renders the final decision in their regard. Last but not least, it will be explored how to collect relevant evidence, develop and implementing a case strategy to offer solutions to overcome inadmissibility in general and, specifically, solutions to overcome criminal inadmissibility by deemed rehabilitated, individual rehabilitation, record suspension, temporary resident permit (TRP), and legal opinion. .
